Guys are the hardest to design, buy or make a card for, am I right?! It's definitely not my favorite, Christmas holds that place. 🎄🎅 So when we got the challenge to design masculine cards, I went for it, using techniques that most card makers use all the time, for most of their cards.
It was a good challenge and I highly recommend you try it yourself.
So, here's where I landed.
I gave a light watercolor wash to the bunnies from this MFT stampset using neutral but masculine colors. I got this paperpack, also from MFT because of how well it would fit for all kinds of cards, but especially for males.
I used the Mathia gratulererbakgrunn stamp for the left panel, stamping it in the closest color I had that matched the paper. I did pretty good there, Distress Ink for the win! I stamped the Gratulerer sentiment and added it to a black panel so it would match the ink and stand out a bit more. I also added a black stripe on the left side for the same reason.
I popped up the sentiment and bunnies with my favorite foam tape and taped it all together on my super heavy card base. (I like feeling like you're holding a card when you're holding a card!)
You can use the same techniques- color matching, contrast, and sectioning panels in unlimited combinations. Have some fun and show me what you make. 😁
Until next time....
